Dr. Mame Awa Toure

Dr. Mame Awa Toure is a Governing Council Member of WiPHLA. With over 25 years of experience in public health, she previously served as Regional Director for West and Central Africa, where she led health programme strategy and implementation across the region. Dr. Toure has held senior roles with international health organisations, overseeing multi-country portfolios in maternal and child health, immunisation, and health systems strengthening. Her leadership has shaped national health policies and programmes across Francophone West Africa. She brings deep expertise in cross-country coordination, donor relations, and translating global health strategies into local impact. Dr. Toure is a physician by training with advanced degrees in public health and health policy.
